This Off Avignon 2008, which requires much effort and preparation on which rests the future of the room counts Given a very important investment, began as scheduled at the theater "The Ratchet" Thursday, July 10.
Debut very difficult, however: with three other rooms, we were mysteriously "Forgotten" the paper edition of the OFF Program , this edition has been published and distributed 160,000 copies across France! .. immediate outcome for our small room that had a full house in Paris: 10 spectators the first two days maximum, 30 maximum then ... for a gauge of 90 seats!

We even got between three critical time extremely positive: the famous theatrical rueduthéâtre site, another site specializing ( strictly confidential -) and especially the famous regional daily " Vaucluse Matin Dauphine Libere.
Not to mention a long interview appeared on the famous site Three Loved August 14, which was also led to the "Orangerie" (which was also filmed the extraordinary debate July 19: See photos in the article below). This media
, though comforting, unfortunately weighs little in the middle of a Magma 1,000 pieces and especially given this oversight in the program, extremely damaging for us.
"computer error" Has there been argued from the beginning to the direction of Off to justify the omission. Maybe ... even if we had tried to convince the rest to our hero that he was the victim of a "miscarriage of justice"! To support this parallel It appears that the direction of Off has been made aware of this bug several weeks before the opening of the Festival. And not a word nor any information from them until we discovered the problem by opening candidly program on the eve of our "First". Reaction after a few days, after bitter negotiations: Refund of registration fees, ordering extra leaflets to our printer and mail to the professionals! No republication of the catalog or even print a erratum slip in all programs are incomplete. Nothing in short was that the enormous extent of the damage that we suffer from that fact alone.
We are a small company, nobody knows ... We therefore count for anything, it makes sense ... As for the press, despite our efforts to prevent early July, it was unfortunately very little attention until a few days ago to this new "slip Avignon. Enhanced media coverage would however only allowed to do justice to the four companies "forgotten the off" and allow them to regain a bit of visibility. Only a very brief article in late "Vaucluse Matin July 30 and another in" Provence "same day (!) Makes mention.
Hopefully the few programmers who have heard the piece and moved to see in Avignon (twenty only) have found the most interesting and worthy of inclusion in the next season on Posters of the premises under their supervision. Thanks also to the public and especially , too few in number during the 24 performances (about 500 spectators), but extremely excited after meetings (you can judge soon here by the number and the quality of our comments guestbook ). And that makes us think it might be foolish not to return next year with the room ... under improved conditions, obviously.
